I've been told by a reliable source that an agent was denied a seat on a Washington, DC to New York commercial flight while on duty because he was too drunk. A wink and "sleep it off" was the reaction. We'll see. I'm sure excuses can and will be made and some things are excusable. If the truth comes out, which I doubt, you will find a lot more than blowing off steam.

It looks like this is spreading to where it may not belong. Sure, if they're on a mission, it compromises them, leaves them vulnerable to enemy penetration (sorry, I just couldn't resist that). It must be stopped, and the guilty punished. But in an investigatory hysteria, the scandal won't stop there. It will extend to every instance of just a little blowing off of excess steam. These are big boys, they work hard and they probably need to play hard. If they're not actually on the job, they should feel free to party every now and then. Anyone willing to take a round for the Chief should be allowed to tie one on occasionally when he's not on duty, as long as no one gets hurt.
