Thanks Tom...that was my conclusion...but I was questioning myself. They said Jessica rose to meteoric fame almost overnight. I thought it was because she was described as *trustworthy*. I took off the rose colored glasses.

I have the distinctly bad habit of trying to believe in people.

You play snooker, sip cognac and smoke cigars with the boys, I know you want no special treatment. You'll get none here, but you will get respect.

No ER...I am sincere. Thank you for clarifying.

I often feel I am behind the power curve in life...actually, late bloomer fits. When I started coming here I was completely out of my league. I am catching up. I apologize myself if I have been snarky before.

I respect you guys so much. You are my link to the outside world. By choice. But I have conservative roots. I actually tried on *Democrat*...and I was completely lost. I truly, sincerely, couldn't agree with Democrats on basic economic issues.

Back to news anchors...it was my initial thought they literally just read what was in front of them on the teleprompter. I could not understand how *trustworthy* played into it. I thought maybe there was more to their job than I was aware of.

I see now that news anchors and journalists are two completely different occupations.

I remember Jessica, a pretty lady reporter and anchor on network TV. I didn't know she was dead until years after when I saw her story on a TV documentary. I guess I must have been busy as well when she died.

Forgive me if I have misinterpreted you, but I thought your remarks about "trustworthy anchors" were just another Conservative snark about how treacherous the MSM is because it refuses to report or interpret the news the way the Right wants everyone to hear it.

I have my own problems with the news, it is too often trivial, superficial, incomplete, and fickle. But I feel the shortcomings of mainstream journalism are not due to some sinister Liberal conspiracy trying to brainwash us all into socialism, but because the corporate executives who run it are simply interested in selling more advertising, and care more about ratings than they do informing or educating the public.

If I misinterpreted your remarks and responded too harshly, I sincerely apologize. If you were just trying to get a smart-ass little dig in at the expense of those who you disagree with, then I don't.

Excuse me for asking an honest question ER...I thought it was. I was busy raising babies and helping put my husband through school back then, and I have never watched the news. I read it....but not back then.
I figured you guys would now, because you are always reminding me how you have observed, watched, studied Current Events history, (which appears to initially sound like an oxymoron), and you have done so since basically the beginning of TV...

I don't trust a fuckin' soul...so I have no idea what *trustworthy news person* means. Hell, my own mother has never been trustworthy...what do I know?

You blew me off dude. Thanks again.

It doesn't really matter any more, does it? Today we don't have to trust any specific group for our information.

We can check their sources ourselves now. Do our own research. There are thousands of news sources. We don't have to trust them blindly either, and shouldn't, but now we have enough information access and cross-checking ability to think, analyze, and decide for ourselves.

Be your own news anchor. It's not like it's hard. Modern news anchors are not very smart people.

I don't watch TV news at all, unless there's something to see like a space launch. Even then, I usually end up with the NASA direct feed since the anchormen won't shut up and let me listen to the control people.

I don't watch Fox News either.
