since GWB and Cheney?

We read about their legacy all the time. Foreclosures, business failures, even more body bags, increased debt, few loans for small businesses, etc.

And the rich get richer. That's part of their legacy, too. Why don't the poor just follow their example?

It's funny.

Any time I actually do "follow the money" around here, in detail, the result is usually hysterics.

California has been doing all the things you think good governments ought to do. Taxing the hell out of the rich and businesses, redistributing wealth, taking tighter control of the economy, and adding tons of new environmental and other regulations. So when does it start working?

If you're looking for villains, its got to be the ones who are better off now than they were before. The poor are increasing in number, and just about everybody seems to poorer now than they used to be. Only the infamous "one percent" seem to be really prospering any more, and the rate at which they are getting richer is going through the roof. By George, Bowz. I think you've got it!

At what income level(on the average, of course, there is statistical variaton), do people seem to be making more now than they were before? We do know the median income figure in the nation (the point at which the number of people who have more equals the number who have less)has been dropping for some time now.

Of course, a lot of people don't have income. They just have wealth.
So at what level of wealth do people's assets (on the average)seem to be increasing, rather than diminishing?

I'm serious. Sure, there are probably people of modest means now who are better off than they were previously, and there are probably wealthy people who have lost money, but ON THE AVERAGE, where is the cutoff point? At what income/wealth level does increasing prosperity begin in America? And is that point going up, or down?

Follow the money. Simply watch where the money goes. It is not going to the middle class. They are getting poorer, while, not coincidentally, the wealthy are getting wealthier.

Why is that? Is it because the wealthy have access to the lawmakers? Is it because war is so profitable? Could it be that the wealthy are able to manipulate hedge funds, and therefore the financial system.

Is it because they are subsidized by the government so as to be assured of not failing? Is it because they profit from farm subsidies? Or Big Oil subsidies, such as wars? Or Big Pharma subsidies?

Those monies aren't going to the middle class. California is dying because Conservatives are killing the middle class everywhere. And then whining about it.

And they justifiably complain about the educational system. It didn't teach them how to figure out even such simple things. They aren't bad, simply poorly educated.
