Artifacts, mostly, from the DamnTikiWiki Era. Spammers would register to the Zone, then quietly build personal pages that were short articles about products, or other commercial type essays. They would then link to these pages in the comments of other blogs. I supposed it had to do with link rating. Or some other nefarious purpose.

I've looked, but haven't found a way to purge those links and start fresh.

Seems to be ticking over okay now.

Usual interfaces are working again for me. The "new comment bump" isn't there yet, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Tiny bug: it takes an edit for the paragraph command to show up now, but since I'm probably the only archaic guy who still uses it, it's cool.

Both for the compliment and the help. This has been a nasty software release, and the mere fact that having several people using the software revealed so many bugs suggests that I didn't adequately test it in the lab. Which is a problem with something so complex, because testing is labor intensive. And given that it was a security-related bug, I'm glad I caught it here before the software was released to the (more) general public.

...by clients who have needs that the meatware must write into the software.

You wouldn't recognize this software if you saw it running on the university site.

Could be. Ah, well, we knew being Beta Testers was one of the prices for getting a nice forum at no charge.

Modern tech seems to have needs and desires over and above those of the meatware that "owns" it.
