Capitalists create communists through capitalism’s ruthless exploitation of those without capital.

AND, labor unions were created as a response to capitalists. Again, a response to ruthless exploitation, which is the name of capitalism. No one wants to be in a labor union, but want even less to trust the tender mercies of capitalists.

And capitalism is setting itself for another fall, sort of like the French before their Revolution.

The good news is that now they’ll be able to find Jimmy Hoffa by listening for the spinning noises.

As for the rest, I’m well aware there’s a May Day. At least I’m not the media, currently desperately sitting on what the May Day protestors have been doing today, or someone who pretends there aren’t any communists any more.

I celebrate May Day for the same reasons they celebrate it: as a rule, workers are more virtuous and more noble than those they work for.

I’m not trying to cover up what May Day is all about. I’m pointing out how ludicrous it is that your lot is trying to pretend it doesn’t exist.

Of course it was “expropriated.” What difference does that make? So were Christmas and Easter.

Everybody knows exactly what May Day represents now, and what sympathies the protestors have who celebrate it.

Lord knows they’re not trying to cover it up.

1891 predates 1917. And the Haymarket Riots which it commemorated were in 1886. The Bolshies no doubt expropriated a celebration that already existed under the Czars.

Do you actually feel more comfortable celebrating the Day of the Worker in September? Or would you prefer it not be observed at all? Or maybe you are just jealous no one anywhere has parties, parades and barbecues on the International Day of The Capitalist.

…May Day wasn’t invented by the Bolsheviks, it’s been the traditional Day of the Worker since the 19th century, and has a history that goes back to Pagan Europe. It’s association with labor and the worker has long been, and still is, celebrated in many countries, most of which never have been members of the Soviet bloc.

Throughout most of the world, May Day is the true Labor Day, and plays a similar function to the one we celebrate in September. In fact, I’ve always wondered why we celebrate this holiday in the late summer, instead of spring, when tradition and history have already provided a perfectly good time for working men to take a day off and throw a party.
