We have temporarily interrupted entropy by seeking out these substances and fashioning them into complex artifacts, but in the long run, those elemants will be dispersed and diluted throughout the earth's crust. Apparently human intelligence is only a phenomenon that becomes apparent at high temporal and spatial resolution. When you step back and take a look at the big picture, we're just a minor eddy in the time stream.
