If ever there was an industry where wrongdoing needed to be minimized, it's an industry that our entire world economy depends on.

How you can even argue against this after 2008 is mindblowing!

"Remember, we’re passing laws to make wrongdoing and errors impossible."

We're passing laws to make wrongdoing harder. Period. We'll never get rid of wrongdoing because there will always be bad people. And we can never get rid of honest errors either, so your talking point is utter nonsense. You even deliver it like Bill O'Reilly talking down to his audience. You exhibit a very shallow level of perception on this particular issue.

Now that the reality has been explained to you, how long before you say it again?

Meanwhile...

The government is borrowing or printing over a trillion a year to make up its annual losses. Five hundred times what the bank lost.

You tell me what's going to make a bigger economic dent.

But that's what all the distractions are about, right?

So go for it.

Patch the regulatory holes. Then five years from now, patch the next set of holes. Then ten years from now, patch the new ones. Rinse and repeat. Remember, we're passing laws to make wrongdoing and errors impossible.

Obviously the Democrats couldn't get the job done when the ran the whole damn show, so maybe they'd better get on the stick while there's still any of them left in D.C.

So you say let them invest in whatever risky investment they want and have the government continue to provide federal deposit insurance, so the "risk" is not really theirs at all? Is that what you are saying? Or are you saying remove the federal deposit insurance and let them lose people's savings?

What do you think THAT would do to the economy?

Oh and you skipped right over the point about all the new, more complex and more risky financial instruments that have been created in the last few decades huh?

How many were repealed?
I can name one, and Clinton signed it. Can you name another?

When you criminalize making any risky investments, what do you think the economic result will be?

So despite near universal agreement that the loopholes left in Dodd-Frank need to be closed, you rant on about "no more laws." Why? Because "laws are bad"!! Sheesh!

"How many financial laws have been passed since the Depression?"

How many of those laws were fricken repealed in the last 20 year?? How many new financial instruments have been created? How much more complicated is the system now? How smart is it to leave trillions of dollars in assets largely unregulated because of these new factors?

Trying to fix a serious structural problem in our financial system isn't seeking some universal utopia.

There is a huge difference between "no more laws" and "no laws."

How many financial laws have been passed since the Depression?

Dodd-Frank, a Democratic law, was supposed to BE the "needed regulation." Did you read Obama's speech on the signing?

What next? Another law? Ten more laws? Fifty?

When will we live in a world where a business cannot fail? Where no politician or businessman can ever be corrupt again?

We've seen societies where the government has total control of the economic systems. The corruption in such places is universal.

There is no utopia. There never will be, no matter how hard the mailed fist squeezes.

The answer to lousy business practices is competitors who don't have lousy business practices. J. P. Morgan lost a couple of billion. Somebody else made that couple of billion. People got fired. It's supposed to hurt.

It sounded like you were complaining about "more laws" for the financial industry.
