The pattern is to first get ridiculous. Exaggerate. A casino spends $20 million locally, and now it's "any business at all as a "megacorporation"".

You use that one over and over. Any example becomes "every", or "all". Slide right into the silly.

Next, not discussing the issue. It is the recent development of the Super-PACs, which didn't exist in 2008. Wander off over the horizon and hope people follow.

Third, the "old hat" argument. It's never bothered anyone before. Those Super-PACs didn't exist before.

Related to old hat is "who cares".

It's not about resolving issues, it's about winning an argument. And any tactic is fair.

Not much to admire there.

The reality is that money can buy elections. The vast majority of voters operate only on vague perceptions. Many people voted for GWB because he was a "God-fearing man". Never mind he was a nut who heard God talking to him.

Or "family values". Republicans traditionally believe in "family values" for everyone else. Don't follow them personally, but are perceived as being in favor of families, virtue, anti-drug, anti-gambling and so on. If you don't believe me, listen to Rush. I forgot, you do. Those foggy notions drive many, many voters, the ignorant ones. And repetition is part of the big lie, and money buys repetition.

Anyway, your post was typical. And not at all intellectually honest.

I suppose we could define any business at all as a "megacorporation"

to try and preserve the rapidly-dissolving leftist lexicon.

I used that chart, where 2008 was the most recent set of numbers, because it encompassed state politics and I thought it was more comprehensive. The casinos don't even show up at the Federal level.

Interesting that political speech and opinions from giant media corporations never bothered anyone. I guess if you're shilling for the right party it doesn't count.

The Citizens United decision will probably be about number six on the long list of rationalizations Democrats will have for their losses this fall.

It's never their ideas or policies. Ever.

I'm not on drugs, but you might have noticed that your side is slowly going nuts.

Maybe it was the names of Indian tribes that fooled you. You think a casino developer dropping $20-30 million on state ballot measures isn't big business?

But why are you even bringing up stats from 2008? John Roberts changed the politico-financial landscape completely. We won't know until after the election, when it's too late for the information to matter, how much SuperPAC shills like the "Chamber of Commerce" raised from mega-corporations. Do you seriously think that the final tally whill show a bias toward Democrats? Are you on drugs?

The heavy donors, state and federal combined, -here-.

Print it out, take a highlighter, and mark off the "mega corporations." Or even the not-so-mega ones. See what the list looks like.
