Actually it’s not stealing, since the Space Act of 1958 specifically states that any sort of intellectual property–written or visual or audio–produced by NASA is automatically in the public domain.

So it wasn’t stealing to look inside the page at nasa.gov and extract the parts we need over here.

I expected the Curiosity Web page to offer the countdown clock as a widget you can embed on your site. It’s traditional…and it seems they’ve abandoned that tradition in favor of posting on social networks and an abundant supply of apps for Apple products (the only one I know of for Android is, funny enough, “ISS Live”, and it works better than the Web site).

So…to rephrase that, do you mean, can I develop a countdown clock? Theoretically, but in reality couldn’t even start for a couple of weeks. Not so simple as I’d blithely assumed.
