<blockquote>Anyone can become angry. That is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way – this is not easy.
— Aristotle, Greek philosopher (384-322 B.C.), from the Nicomachean Ethics</blockquote>

Genetic testing of the piles of self-righteous sanctimony lying around here the past couple of weeks might be educational.

I was pointing out that forced wealth redistribution and indifference to the needs of others are not the only alternatives.

I really shouldn't have needed to explain that.

As for your question, I can answer it for the population as a whole, and even put it in perspective. I've already done that more than once.

Estimate what you've paid in Federal taxes over the past ten years, the duration of the war, and I can nail it down even tighter. Then I can tell you where the rest of your taxes went.

What did it cost me to pay for Abu Ghraib, renditions, torture, Cheney and Bush's salaries, protection?

There's no fool like a sanctimonious fool. Try to be less of one. It would do both of us good.

What you're actually doing here is making up other people's beliefs to accommodate your own somewhat erratic worldview.

And then telling people to change something that never existed in the first place.

See the problem?

If your beliefs lead you to be a person you don't like, don't blame me for describing that person.

Change your beliefs.

That's my "sin". Taking the expressed beliefs of people and describing the person.

For instance, people who buy marijuana for recreational use are funding terrorism much more directly than donors to Muslim charities. Those people are paying for the slaughter of people all over the world, funding beheadings, torture, mass murder.

And they don't like it when that is pointed out. Is that my fault, or could they live without messing up their brains and the world?

As far as responding to me, don't bother. I'm not going to change my mind. People who have way, way too much and still deprive citizens of medical care, food and shelter are seriously flawed, not quite human, and that's their decision, not my judgment.

How can they expect the full rights of humanity if they don't exhibit humanity? And why do they resent being called less than human if it's not true?

It was GWB, that guy to whom God talked, who said you are either for us or against us, to the loud applause of Conservatives. When I say it you don't like me, because you don't like the message because the message is true.

More people, a helluva lot more, should be angry, and not tolerate cruelty, inhumanity, greed.

<p>Health care costs are rising rapidly in Canada, too.</p>

Maybe people keep looking at the wrong end of the stick? If you subsidize something, the price goes up. This is a law of economics. Look at college education.

There is a direct connection between the cost of medical care and the graph I posted earlier, and post here again:

<img src="http://www.ebri.org/publications/benfaq/hlthfaqch5a.gif" alt="" width="400" />

There are a number of solutions for this. The problem is that a large segment of our political leadership refuses to accept or even consider any solution other than total Federal control of the health care system. Even Canada's system is provincial and decentralized.

<blockquote>"No one should be forced to be charitable, but neither should we seize on that self-evident truth to justify indifference to the suffering in our midst, or to escape responsiblity for our role in it."</blockquote>

You understand that these are not the only alternatives. Bowser doesn't.

Believe me (or not) I see what you are saying. I have all along. It is the way you condemn others for not seeing it your way...living it your way...breathing, eating and sleeping it your way that makes *me* angry. You come across as some sanctimonious judge and jury that makes me want to slap your head to a peak and knock the peak off. That is one reason I *<b>TRY</b>* to attempt to relay to you my perceptions...an attempt to get you to see that not every conservative is made out of slab of stone . That is a two way street dude. It is all your way or no way at all....and I will block your ass every time. It is THE WAY you present your arguments Bowser.

I told a dear friend that I was through responding to you, but I guess I lied.

So the rich should be responsible for children's healthcare, feeding the hungry, and sheltering the homeless? That's the way it should be but it's not. It's too bad more wealthy don't take their cues from someone like Bill Gates.

To be brief, I'm angry at the young pregnant mother with 3 kids who is already wholly reliant on government assistance. In more ways than one, having children is a choice. Just because I don't think 'we' should be responsible for other peoples children and choices doesn't mean I don't want healthcare for their kids. I want them to take care of their own.

Unfortunately I admit there is a widening gray-to-black area in healthcare. Responsible working people are finding it hard to pay for insurance. The system is so far out of wack that we should have shit-canned it and went for single payer. I don't see obamacare solving the problem and if there are any open market controls, they haven't worked for a long time.
