I remember first reading about the Dogger Bank (the name fishermen have given to these fishing grounds)in Rachel Carson's "The Sea Around Us" published back in the 1950s. It stuck in my mind because she reported that fisherman's trawls would often bring up animal bones and stone tools. and it gave the impression England was not an island during the ice age. Now, why can I remember a few paragraphs about something I read when I was in high school, and I keep on forgetting where I left my car keys? It’s all true, but its not news.
