Not too much, please!

There's nothing there to absorb it, and dangerous flooding with mud flows could be the next challenge. The granite bedrock of those mountains weathers to small pea sized gravel (called grus) which erodes easily. They've had no time to mitigate the dry washes for erosion.

Thanks for the link, TB. It's so weird to look at those photos knowing the area like the back of my hand. In some of the photos you'll notice some ridges of white rock (hogbacks). Those are at the very north end of the Garden of the Gods, which was spared from the flames. Just north of those, you might see a large, sloping flat area - the Queens Canyon limestone quarry, which has been in the process of reclaimation for decades now. That was my orange alert line for my mom. When the fire topped that ridge is when I called her and told her to get out.

Mom said they had about half an inch of rain the other night, and the forcast calls for much lower temperatures and higher humidity and hopefully more rain this weekend.

Good news, if you can call it that, is that these are old photos.

The fire is apparently now at 90 percent containment, but that's small comfort for those who lost homes or lives.

NASA has photos from space here of the burn scar.
