McCarthyism is a tried and true form of demagoguery. Even if you can beat it in the court of public opinion, or even in the courts itself,
the battle will be costly, and some of the wounds will never heal. This is deliberate and calculated. You can’t send your enmenies to the Gulag in AMerica, but you can wreck their careers.

It used to be Commies were the witch du jour. The world is running short of Reds these days, so now its Muslims. I wonder who the next bogeyman will be.

They’re not letting Sara Palin near a microphone, but I hear she’s already rented office space in downtown Tampa. She’ll have a few scores to settle. I wonder if my BWI press pass will get me in the door. This is going to be a real circus.
