Greed comes to Middle Earth July 30, 2012 6:54 pm ER

http://news.yahoo.com/jackson-says-hobbit-split-three-movies-204727987.html

My heavily annotated and lavishly illustrated hardbound edition of “The Hobbitt” Is considerably more compact than any one of the paperback LOTR trilogy. How is Jackson going to squeeze 3 films out of this?

Its unfair to criticize a work before its even released, but I have suddenly lost a great deal of respect for Jackson, who managed to get me, someone normally quite indifferent to fantasy, interested in the original trilogy.

The normally brain dead haploids who comment on Yahoo articles were spot on target for this one. My favorite was Joseph from Phoenix, who quipped,

“Good Lord, how many episodes could he squeeze out of the Silmarillion?”
