They’ve all been unrefrigerated, out in the sun for a month.

That’s the Tea Party. Smell one of those eggs and you know they are all rotten. No need to smell them all. In fact, it would be foolish.

Are there good members of the Tea Party? Depends upon what you include as good. Am I proud to be a member of the same species? Of course not.

Am I prejudiced – proudly. Bigoted, maybe. A person with character and human values – definitely.

But seriously, you seemed to understand ER’s position when people were starting to get excited about that Obama kid. And some of the strange accusations you promoted were rather off-target, in retrospect.

This guy is an up and coming Republican. If you think that his awesomeness is going to get liberals to say nice things about him then I’m just sorry about that.

Honest ignorance is no crime. It's the starting point for finding out anything.

(Hell, somebody posts something here almost every day I didn't know about before.) But spouting bullshit about something or someone you don't know anything about, when the answers are easily available to all of us on dozens of different fronts at the touch of a keyboard, is "willful ignorance." As far as ER is concerned, Cruz is a conservative, backed by well-known conservatives, and he thinks Cruz is funny-looking. That's all he needs to know. I know that Cruz is a top-line political lawyer who will add some much-needed intellectual ammunition to the Senate. I know that this primary contest was watched by a lot of people who are gauging the power of the grass roots conservative movement versus the Republican establishment, much the same way as the Wisconsin elections were watched as a gauge of union power versus rational government. This article shows why this election was important, and what we've found out. It's one more piece of information to be added to many others concerning the current political environment.

I did not know who you were talking about, so I went to the Will piece to try to figure out why you thought it was significant. I was ignorant. Now I know a little, but I still don’t understand why you were fired up about it. And I don’t get why I should have known.

I note that Cruz graduated Harvard magna cum laude, and was an editor of the Harvard Law Review, which were the shining central pillars in the 2008 resume of Barack H. Obama, Super Genius.
