He has only released the returns that show no embarassing information. Do you really think if there wasn’t anything in them he didn’t want us to see he wouldn’t have already publicized them?

I can prove I haven’t beaten my wife in the last two years, too.

The man is telling us he deserves to be president because he’s such a great businessman, but he won’t reveal any evidence of his career as a businessman. (Remember, he’s been unemployed for the last few years, living off his investments.) Other candidates of both parties have done this, proudly, including his own father. This is why his own fellow Republicans have urged him to come clean, it really shouldn’t be all that big a deal.

The reason Mitt doesn’t want to tell us how much he paid in taxes isn’t because he broke the law, it’s because it would show everyone how the tax law is rigged in favor of the top 1%; the tax law his political opponents want to change. In spite of that, the 1% still think their taxes are too high, and that the peasantry are getting too many benefits, and they are asking us to trust them and let them run this country’s economy without supervision like they did during the Bush years. “Trust us. We know what we’re doing. We are the entrepreneurs, the job creators. That’s why we’re rich and you’re not.”

This goes to the very root of his qualifications and his philosophy. If little Willard wants us to give him a bigger allowance, we have every right to see his report card.

However….The two tax returns Romney has released show that he has paid, in two years, something like six million in Federal taxes alone.

Given the questionable issues of the possible IRS amnesty and the eyebrow raising $100m IRA, there is the potential for some flim flam. More likely it is a lot of embarrassingly low or no tax years.

Man, like to squirt ink whenever somebody says something you don’t want heard. Avoiding the cloud is a really good skill to learn, if for no other reason than to keep your sanity.

Romney could prove in one stroke that Reid is lying, if indeed he is. Reid could be completely discredited and humiliated in front of the entire nation. But that isn’t happening. So calling Reid a liar, by you or by anyone else, is a joke. Only Romney can prove that, and since he won’t it means one of two things: either what Reid is saying is true, or Romney is hiding something even worse.

I am not smart enough to even begin to understand what Romney thinks he is doing…but damn it….if he wants to be voted for as president by the people and for the people…then he needs to cough up the returns.

I hope Huntsman’s plea carries weight.

You have probably said Tom…but I have been purposefully trying to keep out of CE. Why do you think he won’t release them?

It’s not the only story of course but it’s a scab that will keep getting pulled off every few weeks until the election. Very few people care that Romney is rich, this goes to the transparency issue.

And it’s taking it’s toll on Romney in the polls…
