They proved all their racial theories with rigorous statistics, detailed biometrics and careful archaeology, they even had a government-sponsored institute and learned journals.

For that matter, the Marxists developed a highly complex theory of economics, densely footnoted and thoroughly documented, all sorts of citations and scholarly research, going all the way back to Karl himself.

We all create our own subjective universes and we never have any trouble finding all the evidence we need to justify them to our own satisfaction. You've read Creationist debunkings of Darwinism, they can be quite convincing.

Even physicists get it dead wrong, sometimes, or see only part of the truth...

Economics and politics are not physics. But they are mathematics and anthropology, among others.

Economics and politics, after all, are not physics. You can always find data or extenuating circumstances to prove or disprove anything you want.

It has more to do with perception than with fact; what kind of universe you have constructed around yourself. His followers will give him the credit, but the rest will say it would have happened anyway in spite of him, and that it didn't happen soon or strong enough because of him.

Actually, times are great, unless you happen to be out of money. But then again, that's always been the case, hasn't it? Still, prices are low, inflation is close to zero, and unemployment, although high, has been quite stable for quite a while. There is a lot of misery out there for sure, but if its not in your house, its happening to somebody else, isn't it?

Personally, I've never been better off than I am right now. I've got an above average income, my bills get paid the day they show up in the mail and I'm totally out of debt. I've got money in the bank and I save a little more every month. Do I give Obama the credit? No. Do I blame George Bush I'm not even better off? Maybe, but it doesn't really matter.

Keep socking it away. This movie ain't over yet. In fact, I don't thinks it's going to be over any time soon, and if you think it ever will be you're just setting yourself up for a fall. It's just getting started, and except for a very few of us, I don't think it really matters who wins the next election.
