I was a bit afraid that if I said the wrong thing too strongly a horde of grasshoppers would climb up my shorts followed by a flock of starving seagulls. She finally trumped me, in her mind, by saying that Joseph Smith was a prophet exactly like all the other authors of the Bible and that his writings were no more or less fantastic than any others of the Bible and they carried the same credibility. She was shocked to learn Romney is not just a churchgoing mormon, but was in fact a mormon bishop for 5 years, and then a state (the equivalent to a catholic diocese!) for a number of years. The Romney family goes back to the founding of the mormon church. Mitt built a $20m mormon temple in Mass. This dude believes in Kolob in a big way. He may become president here, but he'll be a god in the next world.
