I said you wouldn't understand, and you don't. However, anyone who truly believed the various quotes you post would.

If you will read my original "Exactly!" post you will see that I took your side, that I agreed with you and your position, and that I was grievously upset over the treatment you received. And for that I get stabbed in the back. That's what I got for being your friend.

I didn't, of course, know Eri was morbidly obese until just now. Even so, one had to work, stretch, to take offense at that remark. I was very fond of Eri, would not have hurt her on purpose for anything.

But being sort of a history buff myself, I remember Fox. Oh, the surprises. We won't discuss those, though, or should we? You seem to enjoy history, and we could have a good long talk about that.

Ultimately we are what we are, not what we want to think we are. We are judged by what we do, not what we say, and the "doin's" of some folks don't match the "sayin's" very well. And for others they do.

I am sort of a horse's ass, in a harmless kind of way. And I'm honest. When I say I've been sober for 34years, I've been sober for 34 years. I'm not toxic. I'm a good friend, a good neighbor and have been credited in many ways as being an asset to my larger community. I can see the humor in Libertarians, the ridiculousness of Texans and the massive egos in those who think everything is personal, to them.

Not bad for starters. And I don't think this is a conversation you would want to continue.

EDIT:From your posts dear one you are a horse's petubric. Now you may be a super duper awesome cool guy in real time, but I find you offensive.

However....I do enjoy honing my skills of disdain on you.

Nothing personal of course.

Your "humor" will backfire one day. It almost did when you made some lame joke about Eri's picture and her needing to lose weight.

I had to back channel and make sure she was okay. Eri was morbidly obese, and extremely sensitive about it. I protected her like a mother bear would her cub.

Nothing personal. Your damn straight this is personal....and it is what I am great at. Being personal. Remembering as much as I can about everyone here and trying like bloody hell to relate to each one of you guys on your turf and terms, and still be true to myself, is paramount to me... because this conservative republican Texas libertarian and any other broad stroke snark you want to lump me into, cares. Yes I care. Apparently more than you. Nothing personal. Nothing personal my ass.

And what‘s funny is, it’s all true.

I think you might want to take a look at the many ways you perceive people to be less "mature" or not as well developed as you are.

My problem is, I can’t distinguish the tone you use in your scathing posts on multiple subjects from the one you used in the post to Jody. In addition, your use of sarcasm is well established and nothing you say about your heartfelt sympathy for libertarians and Texans in a later paragraph can be seen taken as genuine. The only thing that points toward the possibility that you were joking was the fact it was on Community.

The big difference between your two contributions is, one was about politics and the other was about the weather. I haven’t seen any exchanges between liberals and conservatives these days that come even close to humor. The only people that seem to pull it off are the late night comedians.

According to you, Texans and libertarians are above the law, selfish and rude. These are ugly truths if true at all. Entirely unflattering. Is it possible you’re not as mature as you think you are?

This time I won’t apologize for how I interpreted your post and I won’t in the future. I don’t owe you one. I won’t allow you to be the victim. And this time, don’t go stomping off in a huff . Because what you wrote about us moss-covered NorthWesterners (you , me, and Buck) was a hoot.

if they take themselves so seriously.

It's not possible to read a book and then become what that book suggests any more than the kid coming out of the Saturday matinee personifies the cowboy hero. I wish you could, as you read some good stuff.

I'm going to say something which you will not understand but I'm going to say it anyway.

Nothing is personal. Nothing. Not even the personal stuff is personal. Nothing I say about you says anything about you, it says a lot about me.

You'd like to understand that, will claim to understand that, and don't.

And that wasn't even about you. It was about Libertarians and Texans.

I'm sorry you took offence. As I said, life would be difficult when so much is personal.

In my own modest way.

Even as I posted it I realized that most of the folks around here do not have very much of a sense of humor even though they think they do. They can laugh at others misfortunes or stupidities, cannot see the humor in their own situations. I decided to take the chance, as I thought it was truly funny.

Libertarians present a real problem. It is impossible to write about them without being funny. And Texans, well, they get teased a lot. Part of being a Texan. Life is hard for those who proudly claim to be either or both and cannot see the lighter side of either condition. They have to wiggle around - "That's not what I meant", "I didn't explain well", "I'm a big picture sort of person, you missed the details", rather than own that any and every political affiliation or chauvinistic attachment is a fair target.

Lookit you. Living near Seattle. Look at the older people up there. Those aren't wrinkles on their necks, they are little gills. Helps them breathe. The bus system is really half ferries, which are boats. Imagine - floating buses. Where do you see that except in Venice? Mt. Rainier is a beautiful sight and you are lucky to have it. Residents can even see the summit on parts of 50 days a year. Only parts of 50 days, though. Can't see it at all 315 days a year. Gray and white masses cover it the rest of the time. Masses from which precipitation is prone to fall, a blessing because the bus system can still work.

Telephone call: "Harriet, Harriet, I think I saw something. It was big, nearly filled the window, it scared me half to death."

"Gladys, stop. You've claimed to see Bigfoot 13 times and they're tired of investigating. Even the police want you to subscribe to the porn channel instead of calling them."

"No, Harriet, no! This was bigger, right out the window. It was round, and white and had a little one right alongside. I big one and a baby!"

"Oh, migawsh Gladys, you saw Mt. Rainier. Call the newspapers. Wait, I'll call the Post-Intelligencer and you call the Times. Prepare for the reporters to stomp your grass, I mean mud, into deeper mud."

Not funny, particularly, but you get the point. The difference is that you can understand the point.

And so on.

The point of my story is, although I do tend to leave out details because I am a non detail person and I expect everyone to know what I am trying to say. I guess that is a Texas Libertarian short coming.

The cop offered no reasonable explanation to the change. There were no signs that said otherwise. The cop kept interrupting me...(oh...I guess that is okay because we are just supposed to bend over and take it up the ass without any lube ...) There were others parked where I normally park...it was *visitors parking*. Where he told me to go (which I am quite sure was to hell...under his breath) was in the Do Not Park Fire Zone. Now I may be a little slow on the uptake here, but this simply makes no sense. My thought was, limited as a Texas Libertarian's is...is he was told to direct traffic at the elementary school, and he didn't have a clue where anything was.

Ya know...some people respond better to not being interrupted and to reasonable answers. But hey..it's a Texas Libertarian thang ya'll...common decency and reasonable answers.
