Believe it or not, I'm feeling the same frustration. If the R's were serious about reducing the deficit/debt they would bring taxes back to a proven sustainable level- the level before Bush cut them. They would not be pushing for increases in Defense spending.

And they need to stay the hell out of our goddamn bedrooms.

Both parties are making anarchy attractive.

Clint never said the word "fuck". It was implied in an attempt at humor.

First of all, I actually agree ER might have mischaracterized Clint himself, but not the GOP in general in his comment. Clint really isn't the perfect metaphor for the entire GOP. He is after all pro choice, pro gay marriage and anti war. But his skit, as I pointed out in the OP, is representative of the the entire GOP campaign because they have spent so much time arguing with a make believe president they have created.

The frustration you see on the left is rooted in the massive distortions and outright lies coming from the right. Running the range of Ryan's fib about the auto plant closure, to the big ugly scary lies about medicare, to the endless nutcase conspiracies.

On top of that you have grossly incompetent and extreme teapublicans posing a true threat to our nation's ability to govern, as so graphically demonstrated in the uncanny and completely unnecessary near default on the national debt.

This waterfall of ignorant bullshit is really pissing people off on the left. That's what is going on.

In my never-humble opinion the "clean, healthy wholesome shit" is getting pretty damn deep on this site.

If you were projecting any more you'd change time zones.

...is that when a Liberal does something stupid, mean or evil, (like Weiner or Edwards) other Liberals cringe, hope no one notices, and try to look the other way until the whole affair blows over.

When a Conservative steps on his dick, other Conservatives, make excuses,
blame the Liberals, or whine about how "the other side started it".

Or they patronizingly and condescendingly try to explain to us why it wasn't really stupid, mean or evil.

until it is consistent with his internal model of the universe.

I.e., he is perceiving and interpreting the objective data so it coincides with and reinforces his subjective reality.

It's called Objectivism. And there is no known cure.

What came across about Clint wasn't his age, it was the bile and bitterness that poured out of every one of his orifices as he addressed an imaginary President in an empty chair. Clint was the perfect metaphor for the modern Republican party, he embodied the four horsemen that are now cherished and promoted, even demanded, by the TP wing of the GOP: anger, fear and hate. The fourth, greed, is all on those who put him there to exploit his fame and reputation to peddle their poison.

Maybe I am full of shit, but its clean, healthy wholesome shit and I occasionally squat and leave a steaming load behind me. I don't carry it around with me, letting it poison my mind, heart and soul. Clint had Conservative political constipation, and now he's soiled himself and everyone around him, publicly and in the most humiliating manner possible. I hope his handlers are ashamed of themselves, but I doubt it. They're too busy making excuses; lighting their smokes, tying their shoelaces, and looking the other way. So don't blame me; I wasn't the one who put him up to it.

The Republican party is selling its soul and betraying its country for a chickenshit tax break. What mean, petty, pathetic little men.

Read ER's first paragraph again and tell me how much of it was about what Eastwood said and how much was just ad hominem bullshit.

Then read the text of Eastwood’s performance- Here. I can’t find any sign of “festering hatred”.

Eastwood was effectively voicing his displeasure with the President’s policies and actions. He also surprisingly voiced his opposition to the wars and agreed with Obama’s vote against the Iraq war, “I know you were against the Iraq war and that’s Ok”.

I couldn’t find any examples of “hate” and “anger”. The only “malicious fantasies” here are ER’s. It’s a glowing example of SDAI’s “mirror principle”.

Tom’s right. You guys are losing it. Simply delusional and for no apparent reason because Obama has a good chance of being re-elected.

What the hell is going on?
