although it is pretty clear the GOP is embarassed of him and wanted no part of him. They have no desire to remind the country of the crimes committed in his name, during his administration..

But as I've mentioned before, Dubya may not be too bright, and he was chosen for the Presidency because he was easily manipulated, but he is not an evil or malicious man. He realizes how the world regards him, and for his own self-respect and out of loyalty for his party and its core beliefs, he has deliberately kept a low profile for the last four years. Compare him to Cheney, still feverishly scurrying about justifying his atrocities.

But your interpretation of the Conservative domestic agenda and the political contortions they put themselves through to implement it are spot on.

Well no one told me about him, the way he lied
Well no one told me about him, how many people cried
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know why should I care?
Please don't bother tryin' to find him
He's not there

Well let me tell you 'bout the way he looked
The way he'd act and the colour of his hair
His voice was soft and cool
His eyes were clear and bright
But he's not there

Well no one told me about him, what could I do?
Well no one told me about him, though they all knew
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care?
Please don't bother tryin' to find him
He's not there

You make excuses for why he's not there just like you covered up for him when he was there.

I notice the Republicans are advocating all the same things GWB did, with disastrous results. But they aren't giving GWB credit for them.

For a person who was president only 4 years ago, they are not only ignoring him, they are hiding from him. And yet they advocate everything GWB did.

Words are so cheap. If one listened one would think that Republicans favored smaller government and less debt. And yet they refuse to raise taxes, which equals less debt, and they refuse to consider reducing the military, which would be smaller government. No, smaller government to Republicans translates to it being easier to plunder the people and the resources in favor of larger profits for the few.

See what I mean? Listen and it sounds great. Watch and it's an entirely different story. The power to plunder, both the US and the world, is the Republican agenda, and obvious if one looks at the walk that is walked, not the talk that is talked. All they want is power, and will do and say anything to get it. Reading about the inside workings of the two Bush administrations the resemblance to Hitler's 1930s Germany is impossible to miss. Ashcroft, in the hospital, refused to sign a document which would have allowed Bush and Cheney to ignore the Congress and Supreme Court, creating a Hitler type dictatorship. But Cheney was applying all the pressure he could. The next 7 people in line at the Department of Justice also refused to sign, leaving good old Gonzalez to carry the water, but his bucket had too many leaks to count.

I'm sorry, though. You would have to read books to know that. Books by Conservatives who were part of the process, books by liberals who were critical, and books by observers. Not blogs which are all Limbaugh derivatives, which all say the same thing, self-referenced and validated by the self-referencing.

I don't think that even you could deny that, unless your eyes are completely shut and the Republican boom box is glued to your neck.

G. W. Bush did a short taped presentation on Wednesday night.

Much the same as Jimmy Carter is scheduled to do for the Democratic convention.
