My own response to a statement like I made would be to check it out myself before I did anything else. The references aren’t hard to find. Try searching Biden along with “drunk driver.” “Plagiarism.” “academic record.” Or keep it simple with just “lies.”

Remember, the bar here has now been officially set that the most trivial lie shows a “pattern of mendacity.”

The call has gone out to the party faithful and the useful idiots that the Word of the Day for the current campaign will be “lies.” Whether they are actually lies or not is completely irrelevant. If you examine their explanations, they fall apart quite easily (“Obama isn’t cutting Medicare benefits to seniors, just Medicare payments to providers.” What the hell do they think Medicare benefits are?) No, it’s enough that they just keep repeating “lies!” often and loudly.

There’s no rational response to this approach. But as long as people keep trying to parse this shitstorm, they won’t be discussing Obama’s record. If a Republican president was running for re-election on the current economic statistics, every Democrat alive would be demanding he be drawn and quartered.

Watch what happens at their convention.

As far as me and Clinton, I wanted him out of there because he was morally unfit and to give Gore a head start. But your statement is a perfect example of believing something ONLY because you want to. No facts, no data, in fact all of the information ever available pointed in the opposite direction, but you believed what you wanted to. Despite the reality.
