But nobody was killed there. The Libyan mission was just an open compound, guarded by local guards, who tried to help the US staff. The coordinated military attack on it came after the civilian demonstration was well underway. I think these worldwide embassy attacks may have been precipitated by a film, an event that was exploited by terrorist planners, but the attack on the Libyan mission was a military raid undertaken under cover of a "spontaneous" demonstration and planned a long time ago, in just one place. I also think the way its spreading is simply synergy working in Jihadist favor, not the result of any policy or failure of policy on our part. This is the Danish Muhammad cartoon incident on steroids.

But if you believe we should simply withdraw all contact with Islamic countries, close all businesses, diplomatic, trade relations, military aid, political contact, etc., then that is certainly an option. But that is exactly what the Islamists want us to do. Apparently you feel that is what we should do. I don't.

And one other thing. Whether we like it or not, fair or not, the spice must flow. Otherwise, we could care less what is going on the world's desert quarter. If there were no oil, the Muslim world would be like Sub-Saharan Africa or South America. Nothing that happened there would matter all that much to us.

You are talking about a "hearts and minds" approach, and how it's working. "But we are winning".

The US does not do hearts and minds. Our approach is that we took to Fallujah. 4 mercenaries were killed, legitimately from their point of view, and their bodies dragged through the streets. US troops have mutilated bodies, abused bodies, there are no saints in this heaven.

The US flattened a city of 350,000 people. Took 'em three tries, but the US flattened that city. And that's one instance.

We are over there, invading Muslim countries. It's a religious war, at least to them. They hate us, they have good reason to hate us, and they will continue to attack us, over there, every chance they get.

You'll notice that embassy wasn't a welcome to America, it was built like a fortress, announcing "We don't trust you guys an inch". With good reason.

Nope, the news is getting worse. We have sown the wind, we will reap the whirlwind, wherever they can find us. Which was OBLs stated strategy. Get Americans over here where we can fight them.

Sad. We had such great opportunities.
