Usually the candidate who is behind in the polls says something almost exactly like: ”I don’t pay any attention to the polls. I run my campaign on ideas and ideals, on principles, on those things which are good for America and Americans. We will stand for what is right, good and honest and, frankly, can’t be bothered with the polls.”
Romney, on the other hand, is saying: ”The public polls are what the public polls are,” Romney Political Director Rich Beeson told reporters. “I kind of hope the Obama campaign is basing their campaign on what the public polls say. We don’t. We have confidence in our data and our metrics.”
And I wonder what that data and those metrics show at this point.
