Membership rituals are a thing of the past and non-Italian/Sicilians are as highly ranked as anyone. There are no longer any "Made Men". Only good earners swing weight and there is no such thing as protected status any more. It has been all downhill since the 90's and while any particular politician is subject to taking a bribe, mob ties are not a 21st century thing.
