If you were serious about smaller government and debt reduction, you'd advocate cutting the military in half.

first as a relative unknown, now again, four years later, as a thoroughly familiar, vetted, critically analyzed and totally understood quantity.

You're just going to have to get used to democracy, Tom. This isn't about your logic and reason and principles and ideology, or about what you think the Constitution says or what you believe the founders really meant when they wrote it. It's about the will of the people, not about what you think the will of the people is, or ought to be.

I've always known this election was going to be very close as far as popular vote was concerned, regardless of the electoral score. (Nate Silver and the polls were pretty much right on, after all, weren't they?) But even while I suspected the country was going to begin a slide into fascism if Romney was elected, I was resigned to accept the results of his election. I felt that even if I disagreed with the electoral verdict, the election was still an honest one, perhaps the last honest one this country will ever have, and I was obliged to accept its results whether I agreed with them or not. Any other decision would be imposition of my will on others, and that is just not right. If this country indeed chooses to "slide into fascism", then it would deserve the results of that choice, provided the election was fair and constitutional.

That's how democracy works. All the rest of that stuff you spoke about is your opinion, and you're entitled to it. But no one else is obliged to accept it, either totally or in part. We aren't even under any obligation to argue it with you. We are only obliged as citizens and patriots to accept what just happened. I intended to do so, no matter how it turned out. I suggest you do the same. At least for FOUR MORE YEARS.

More people in power who believe that the source of all wealth and prosperity is the almighty and glorious State. And that nothing is beyond us if we just make the state more powerful and give it more of our wealth.

It's a shame we've made all the words that refer to this concept illegal.
