I think you're right.

The articles I was reading, including Wikipedia, only went up to 2010. It took some digging, but I found this.

For the record, I don't approve of absolute Republican power either, or districts where only Republicans would be on the ballot.

My entire political philosophy is founded on limited government and decentralized power. Doesn't matter which party has the power.

That was one election, in 1994.

For most of the state and local races on my ballot, the Republican exists, but sometimes doesn't even bother to put a statement in the ballot information pamphlet.

No, he's the SOTH, not some puny state senator.

Btw, we've all had a chance to see what red state super majority legislatures like to do, like forcing trans-vaginal ultrasounds on women.

I voted for a Democrat last Tuesday.

My district's state senator.

I didn't have any other choice. Leave that part of the ballot blank, maybe.

It was decided a couple of years ago that a minority party in a particular district need not apply. This was voted in by our population, with little opposition.

Just musing.

Yea, but GOP ruled states usually are plagued with Mexican drug lords and beheadings in the desert. Stuff like that.

Can't afford to move.

No place to go, really. My wife has a really good job here, and thank God not one easily vulnerable to layoffs. My house is well above water, but not paid for.

Now I think it's time for me to buckle back down to my writing and proposals. With luck, I'll either make a sale or get another contract. Next year is going to be a bitch and a half in this state. And it's something like 13 percent of the GDP of the country.

It really is nicer living in state with a GOP legislature. Most of the time you can actually forget there IS a state government here.

When it's 1916, and you're in St. Petersburg watching the rapid decline, you don't stay just because of sentimental reasons.
