That's from the final episode. (I think?)
I love that series, but still scratching my head about the finale.

The early to mid 80's were a carefree time for me. I lived in a sort of bohemian downtown neighborhood, in a restored 1920's apartment building. The odd combination of architectural styles (Art Nouveau meets Spanish Colonial) gave it a passing resemblance to "The Village"

You can guess which apartment I lived in.

The owner/landlord, who was a little eccentric, wore a goatee, and frequently dressed dapper while doing general maintenance.

Always addressed me cheerfully; "Good morning Number 6".

Is that the Village on The Prisoner? I never saw the show, but I did glimpse Patrick Magoohan in that video, so I guess that's where that trial was being held.

I looked up Portmeirion on Google Earth. I wasn't surprised to find it thoroughly covered on Street View.

For those of you who've never seen this, it is absolutely essential you watch the whole clip. You can spare the time for this, believe me. It will be worth 9 minutes of your life.

I believe all the Karaoke/Lazarus episodes are available in their entirety on Youtube, but not in the USA. Maybe you can find a work-around. Try this link and start your search there:

...until you mentioned it a few months ago on the Science Fiction board.

Ever since then, I've been dying to see it. My financial empire is not what it used to be, so I've not been able to splurge for the DVD. But, I'm jones'n to see it so bad, I might stoop to piracy.

I love every second of 'The Singing Detective'

There are real clues as to how the mind works here...if we just knew how to unravel them. Dreams, daydreams, hallucinations...they are all interrelated.

I actually solved a thorny problem in image processing algorithm design once in a dream. Fortunately, I had a pad and pencil near my bed and I was able to flowchart it enough to take it to work and code it up. But it actually worked, so I know I'm not fooling myself.

Supposedly, the chemist who came up with the molecular structure of benzene stumbled on it in a dream. He knew the chemical formula, C6H6, but no one could figure out how the atoms hooked up. He dreamt of a snake eating its own tail,

<img src="http://iaspub.epa.gov/tdb/ImageDownload?imageType=CON&imageId=10040" alt="." />

Lately, I've noticed I can extend my dreams into the waking state for a few minutes, as a daydream, although I quickly lose control of them.

I've only had two hallucinations in my life, neither of them drug-induced. One was olfactory, the other auditory, and both were associatted with the dream/waking interface.

His recurring themes of competing realities are wonderful, and naturally come to mind. I sort of doubt he suffered from this disorder, but it's possible.

The Bigelsen - Somer online study will be interesting to follow.

Sci-Fi segue:
Imagine if someone admitted to your consciousness singularity group, had this disorder?
