If McCain didn’t have his daddy he would never have been a POW.
McCain had crashed 4 airplanes before being shot down. Any other pilot who had crashed one would have been examined closely, the second one would have had to been hijacked by God, and the third would have done it.
However, poor judgement figured in McCains problems with airplanes and he would have been swabbing decks if not for his father.

However, it is interesting that the Rs could get the AWOL pilot appointed president, while the guy who insisted on going to war couldn’t get elected.

The talking points provided to Rice by the intelligence community, which were the exact same public talking points provided to the House intelligence committee at the time, said it was spontaneous attack over the video.

Why they said that we also now know. The intelligence community edited out the specific Al Qaeda reference so as not to ALERT THE ENEMY as to what we knew.

This is a circus. Dragging a public servant with a long and admirable career through the dirt to try and steal John Kerry’s Senate seat.

Its about Kerry. Susan Collins practically begged Obama to appoint John Kerry, and the Republicans are promising a quick confirmation and no resistance–a guy they despise. Why? So they can fill Kerry’s vacated seat in Massachusetts and salvage their humiliating whupass loss to Liz Warren. In fact, there’s talk of running Scott Brown for Kerry’s Senate seat.

Kerry is the tenth most senior Senator and the second longest serving Senator in his seat. He also holds senior positions on the Finance, Commerce, and Small Business Committees and is Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.

They don’t want to get Rice out of State. They want Kerry out of the Senate. An added bonus would be it will look like they defeated Obama over Rice, even if he decides to pick Kerry anyway because he is highly qualified and wants the job.

This Benghazi crap is a smokescreen. Only the mouth breathers believe Rice has anything to do with whatever happened in Libya. BTW, what DID happen in Libya that’s such a scandal, anyway? It’s still not clear to me what great crime was committed over there.

But Obama has the initiative. He has options, the Republicans have to respond to whatever he does. The President may even use Rice as leverage to gain concessions on the fiscal cliff negotiations (yes, he’s perfectly capable of throwing her under the bus, for the right price), and right now the GOP is desperately trying to save face. Obama’s got the weather gage on this one.

They're trying to wipe that out of the discussion. Anyone with access to the original classified data knew damn well it wasn't the video. This included the President, and as CBS News pointed out, Rice. They keep flapping the unclassified public talking points in our faces, hoping nobody realizes this. More on the "timeline" here.

The video story is what republicans are pissed about. And your excuse that they didn’t want to blow the CIA’s cover is bogus. Everyone knows what consulates, embassies and missions are used for. It’s no secret.

But your point about the bin laden comparison is a good one.
