Capitalists do not want free enterprise. We've established that.

Conservatives don't want debt reduction or they'd reduce the military. We've established that.

So what is left for you guys? Nothing. You are merely trumpeting hollow notes for the big guys, the guys who don't care a bit about you, on subjects they don't have the slightest interest in.

What would you call people who scream for free enterprise while the larger corporations are angling for every government advantage and subsidy they can get?

Or people calling for reduced debt and advocating $400 million for a single plane, no reduction in military spending?

No one has to be a fool. Some people choose it, for some reason or another, but clearly you have been demonstrated to be fools. Opt out, show some guts, think for yourselves. Give us a little hope for humanity. Because right now you look foolish, without the ability to see past the latest LImbaugh show.

Oh, yes. You might wonder what those who can see the contradiction here thinks of you who refuse to acknowledge reality. It's not flattering, nor should it be.

Because of the seemingly bottomless hole we're in, everyone is treating a billion dollars as though it was chump change.

We need to be looking at, and slashing the budget- a million dollars at a time. Every million counts like yards on football field. A billion should be considered a Hail Mary. Without this attitude we'll never score.

(Sorry, got "carried" away on the football analogy)

Very few people actually know what "oil subsidies" are.

People cheerfully smash into this category things like cost of business and materials deductions, foreign tax credits, writeoffs, and other long-available parts of the tax code that are available to every business in the country. If you kill those for one industry, will you kill them for all of them?

Tax credits specific to the oil and gas industry (according to your links) run about three or four billion a year. This would run the government for about nine hours.

Farm subsidies vary over time, but currently seem to run about $20 billion a year.

I have no problem cutting out oil-industry-only tax breaks ($4 billion a year) and phasing out farm subsidies ($20 billion a year).

You've just paid for running our government for about 55 hours.
