To pretend that this isn’t one factor in the overall numbers for the U.S., simply because it’s politically-incorrect, is stupid. The reasons for this cultural dysfunction is an entirely different subject, although it might also lead the average liberal someplace he doesn’t want to go, i.e. decades of social engineering.

A lot of the countries we are usually compared with are just now entering a new phase of demographic impact. Just in the last ten years migration into the EU has tripled. In 1998 only 3.2 percent of Spain’s population was foreign born. Ten years later it was 13.4 percent. We’ll see what happens to their crime statistics.

Rob is forgetting the key problem here, which Jeff-Wash brought up here a few days ago; that black people are victims of the ghetto drug and crime epidemic as well as perpetrators. And as you pointed out, the white press doesn’t talk much about that aspect of it.

I’ve watched both of you play the game of subtly implying that the real problem is those ghetto criminals, in order to distract and confuse, obscure and derail the real debate going on in these pages. You’re looking for a “demographic imbalance in the statistics” that will get you off the hook. Troublesome and unruly monorities have always been a convenient scapegoat to blame our problems on.

Other countries have ghettoes and high crime districts too, and they have rebellious minorities, racial, religious, economic, too. But they don’t have a gun related death toll like we do. That’s what we’re talking about today, remember?

Focus on what we’re talking about here, don’t show off at how good you are at changing the subject. Its a cheap trick, we’ve all heard it before, and its getting old.

You wrote a statement about the victims of black gangsters and drug runners, as though somehow, in some way only you apparently understand, this neutralized Rob’s statement.

And then you topped it off with a direct insult.

And as usual, you’re evading the main point: the demographic imbalance in the statistics. You asked what’s unusual about the United States compared to other countries. That’s one thing.

I’m beginning to think it isn’t deliberate.

I made perfectly clear the distinction that both the guilty shooters AND innocent victims were black. In fact, that’s precisely what the whole post was about.

Don’t lecture me, TB. You’ve already got blood on your hands. Take a hint from your beloved NRA and at least have the decency to stay out of sight and keep your mouth shut until the funeral is over.

Not to mention shoving words in Rob’s mouth with a plunger.

I put up the statistics. These black victims are not being killed by Martians, and not by accidental gunfire on New Year’s Eve. They are being killed by criminals, almost all of their own race, and in numbers much larger than their percentage of the U.S. population.

Interestingly, six-year-olds dying in gunfire in Oakland and elsewhere don’t seem to make national news.

Mistaken identity, getting caught in a crossfire, revenge for standing up to thug, or someone robbing your business or stealing your car. Most firearms killings are not gunfights. The one who dies is usually a good guy, unarmed, or an innocent bystander. The only things he may have in common with the shooter is that he’s black and that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The shooters may not be “citizens” in your eyes, but most times the victims are. If the local gangster doesn’t like you, he sprays your birthday party with automatic weapons fire, killing or maiming half your friends who don’t even know him–not to mention the 2 year old girl asleep in the next house over.

So what’s your plan, “Let those savages kill each other off.”?
