Or maybe the claims of its performance are incorrect. How could they make a cylinder that holds enough gas to propel 30 .46 balls as fast as a modern .45? And a hand pump capable of charging it?

Sounds like something you could sell to preppers if you cleaned up the round feeding tech. Hell, I want one.

And what you just might be interested in. I came across the Girandoni reference in the recently published update #11 for this kickstarter project. I don't talk about games nor kickstarters around here much because of lack of interest. But this particular ks has to do with a game that teaches about the Lewis and Clark discovery trek. It reminds me of the old Oregon Trail game. Anyhow, I hope they raise their $35K and make the thing.

The rifle used on the Lewis and Clark Expedition is at the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax,Virginia. I haven't seen it myself, but my husband and one of our daughters went there several years ago. They have a lot of cool historical weapons there. Even the NRA has non-controversial purposes.
