The republicans have treated the last two democratic presidents as if they are illegitimate regardless of the fact they were elected by majorities of the people. They tried to impeach Bill Clinton on the most preposterous of grounds. They have used unprecedented obstructionism against the current president.

Of course the democrats want to take the House. How is that an abuse of power? Get a grip on reality.

I didn't say other parties were illegal.

I'm saying the Democrats have, as their goal, the destruction of the Republican Party to the point that they never gain power again. Call that result whatever you like.

Maybe you've forgotten the hysterical liberal rhetoric on "too much power" and "power sharing" back when the Republicans--barely--had both Congress and the Presidency for a few years. I haven't.

Right now, for Obama, it's all about 2014 and the House, and everything he's done so far this month has been dedicated to stripping the Republicans in the House of their base, their ideological foundations, and their unity. In the Senate, Reid is trying to neutralize the filibuster.

As for "rule of law" and the Constitution, I'm amazed you can bring that up in connection with the current Democratic Party without your head exploding.

Obama's entire strategy has been to route around the legislative process and the division of powers. And the Constitution is viewed by most leftists as an obstacle, not something to be respected. A Republican did not write this.

By the way, I'd cut back on the personal insults if I were you. You're tossing stones and you practically live in the Crystal Palace.

You are calling a majority in a democracy "one party rule." As if all other parties are illegal? As if there is no rule of law? As if the constitution is suspended? as if there are no longer elections?

Tom, you have lost your mind. You can no longer argue as a reasoned individual.

You're confusing "government spending" with "government control."

And single-party rule does not require a specific level of government spending.

"Total government control" is a public sector that is 23% of GDP? "Total government control" is a democratically elected majority under a constitutional system that enshrines the rule of law?

You are crazy AND an idiot.

"Dropping the hammer" in this case means no more attempts to compromise with uncompromising assholes. I'm not saying all republicans fit this description, but certainly all tea baggers do.

"Communist."

How many times have you resorted to that mindless verbal belch in this thread in lieu of an actual retort?

I count three.

You still haven't told me how the Democratic Party, which has nothing in common with any other political movement that supports total government power and single-party rule, is going to "pulverize" and "drop the hammer" on its political opposition.
