Since over half the article was on the “living wage,” essentially you linked to it because you liked the headline. Odds are you never actually read it.

Much less actually think about what they say, or what the consequences would be of mandating a “living wage” to “meet” the cost of living–for about ten minutes.

If you had actually read “Atlas Shrugged,” you’d realize how the “banana republic” reference, which is defined historically as a corrupt government/industrial cabal, actually connects with the book’s ideas.

Orren Boyle. James Taggart. Think about it. If you can’t, maybe someone else will.

The end point of your policies is a banana republic. Think past this moment into what you are creating. And then tell me how well you are able to understand the results of your actions.

Sort of like you read.

Now, did you see yourself in that quote? Don’t cut me any slack. I can take it.

It took me a number of years to read everything Rand wrote because I actually did. And her work was just one of many, many things I read and studied to get to where I am now.

Being a “progressive” is the intellectual equivalent of floating down the Apple River on a summer day in an inner tube. Give the right responses, like and hate the right things, regurgitate the right talking points, vote the Party line, and if you’re lucky you can go for months without ever having to fire up the front end of your brain in the realm of political ideas.

For example, do you still think believe indexing wages to the cost of living is a good idea?

Rogers isn’t stupid. He just doesn’t want to leave that comfortable political inner tube, just like a lot of other people. Frankly, in his industry, anything else is a liability.
