Amen!
Am about to Sault Ste. Marie, snow and ice all the way. And bitching is absolutely part of the process. It's the closest thing to an adventure I could think of. Kinda lonesome without my dog, didn't realize how much company they are. I didn't plan on some things, though. For instance, there is no liquid water available except in restaurants or stores. Everything is frozen. I've had my fill of this, thinking of heading south. Have to admit this is an adventure, am the only RV I've seen except for one French guy with about 4 young women with him.
Stayed ahead of the snow so for, but driving is not a cruise control affair, it's a tense, sore hands, arms and back situation. I'm finally able to stay up with the trucks, whose drivers are stark, raving mad. Saw about 10 of them wrecked one day, some of them several days old. Lotsa women in those trucks, too, as you notice in truck stops.
Just cost $172 to fill up. Most I can imagine spending.
Nap time, then dinner. Later, all.

and out of respect for bowser's privacy, I wouldn't dig up the picture and republish it, without his renewed permission.

Besides, the entertaining bit is how the picture you choose represents your impression of bowser. I'll bet it would be a picture of some dude laughing. I was impressed by the process you and bowser improvised to set up your rendezvous without disclosing any personal information, including bowser's post of a picture of a van resembling his, and I was hoping to riff further on it. But alas...

A few years ago, Bowser posted a pic of himself in the great outdoors. Out of respect for his privacy, I didn't save it.

The memory of his face is fading but I won't forget his laughter.

When you are 70+ you are past staring down grizzly bears. Exposing oneself to the travails of weather is one way to make it an adventure of acceptable risk. Griping about it is permitted. :)

Detente at the HabitableZone over a piece of pastry. Will wonders never cease? I'm charmed to read all about it. And a bit envious, since getting to meet the mysterious bowser is a bit like meeting Greta "I vant to be alone" Garbo.

Hey Rob: How about posting a picture of some guy who looks like bowser, but isn't bowser? You know, a variation on his dodge posting a picture of a van resembling the real BowserMobile? Clever idea, now let's run it into the ground ;-)...

Dude, you picked March for your trip.

And went north.

You could be on a sunny beach right now. You are in the middle of prime Great Plains blizzard season. I know what it was like in the Dakotas and Minnesota. God knows what it's like up in Canada's flatlands.

Take a right at Winnepeg and keep going until you hit magnolias in bloom.

Slow, slow. Stayed one night at a small casino I stopped in thinking I could get money for my debit card. Couldn't, we thought it was because no phone likes to US, was because it was blocked. Anyway, they fed me dinner with the Manager, let me park in a protected employees lot.

Otherwise, I'm tired of 0 degree nights, 10 degree days, 30 mile an hour winds and blowing snow. If it doesn't snow overnight, a possibility, I may get to Winnipeg and head south. Only a retarded bison would like this, and people live here. One drives along, glances at those prairies, no trees, no nothing, and wonder how the first folks ever survived. Or wanted to.
Plan on being snowed in, stocked up on food and liquid water.
That's it for now.

I'm in the Wal-Mart MacDonalds just to the left. Spent the night next to a huge pile of snow in their lot.

A couple of hours time difference, but my solar powered atomic clock Casio hasn't figured it out.

Windy, cold, icy, went to a casino. Girls are still wearing skirts up to their butts and high heels. Bless 'em!

And after driving around Medicine Hat my brakes got spongy, almost went to the floor. After calling Coach Net and finding their phone didn't work, called AAA, got a referral to someone who was closed, but by the time I got through messing with them had my brakes back. They much need bleeding. I'm staying at a Wal-Mart tonight next to a Canada Tire hoping for that to happen tomorrow. Had 'em done before I left, too.

That's the place, up there.

Had to come into MacDonald's to whoops, they're closing. Got to go.
