Half the fun of going back to a more traditional wet shave was discovering a world of soaps, creams and badger/boar/horse brushes. I think the hairs stay in place and are less likely to bend under the razor edge. I get less irritation on the neck doing it this way. My favorite shaving soap - Mystic Waters Bay Rum - also prefers to be cold or tepid or else I get disappearing lather syndrome. There's one teeny problem with it for me.......I don't like the feel very much. Especially in a PA winter. Much prefer my lather to be warmer at least for the first pass. Next!
