People have been successfully reusing Shakespearean plots for hundreds of years. If I like a story I enjoy seeing it skillfully retold with some of the original plot elements.

I will probably wait for the dvd but I look forward to seeing it.

Finally, a well-lit and visually pleasing sci-fi movie. No ugly creatures and no gratuitous violence. Enough twists and turns to keep your interest going. And I didn't notice any 'give me a break' errors in the plot.

Some have criticized Oblivion as unoriginal. That's unfair, but it does contain about half dozen elements of previous sci-fi movies. So what, a lot of sci-fi movies and television series do this. I find it fun to look for them.

One that I noticed right away was the resemblance of the droids to the space-time eaters in Steven King's "The Langoliers". Same menacing behavior and 'smile'.

Finally, a movie I don't have to recommend you just rent...
