New York Times article

Here.

Interesting that state regulations seem to be tighter than Federal ones.

Those corporations have made more money in the meantime, paid more taxes, and contributed to society with the increased profits.

They can afford to rebuild, and do so less expensively because they can avoid the unnecessary regulations which interfere with production and the increased taxes they pay on the profits.

More people are lost in auto accidents in a day than in chemical plant explosions and fires and no one makes money from auto accidents. Whatever goes to doctors and body shops comes out of insurance companies. People make money from decreased regulation, a good thing.

We as a nation need to get our priorities right. Regulations affect profit, and it's profit which made our country great. A harsh reality, one which no one but me will face, is that we have too little profit and too many people, so that anything which tends to even out this situation is good for everyone (who is left).

There are 12 million Mexicans lined up to take the jobs of those dear departed, with another 30 million or so in ready reserve across the border.

Except for the human tragedies, the shattered families, the grieving communities, this is a no lose situation.
