that is good to go when you get him and I gather you would just have to spend a few weeks with them getting to know the dog before you take him home.

That is pretty cool.

It's a great idea, and 20 years ago I would have done it. Right now I don't want to take a chance on finding the right dog, for one. They have to be capable of focusing only on you, and stay with you, be good citizens in public and obey on the first command.

And I don't want to go through the process of raising a puppy again.

The savings is super, and significant. However, the money for this dog isn't mine, I won't have to worry about it's temperament, learning ability or basic obedience or BG training.

It just looks easier. And better.

And, as I said, it's a great idea and I would have gone for it. Thanks.

<a href="http://www.diabeticalertdog.com/forum/read.php?1,9536,9536#msg-9536" rel="nofollow">Seattle DAD training</a>

It seems you can pick your own dog, (maybe even a rescue) in the lab size class, so the dog cost would be up to you.

However, I neglect to do that. I get busy, don't take the time, get tired of poking myself and so on.

AND, I'm a dog person, prefer to live with a dog. Will get one anyway if this doesn't go through, but it looks as if it might.

The dog does sound handy and I would like to have one but I can tell when I am hypo without even testing.

Elevated glucose is without symptoms unless it is sky high and to my knowledge there is nothing you can do to get it down except starve it down if you are not on insulin.
