herding cats (one cat anyway) July 24, 2013 1:24 am FrankC

We recently acquired a nice little female black cat. I use a small red laser light to bring the cat out of hiding and to pretty much control it’s movement around the house. It will follow that laser light anywhere I point it.

Since they are not known for obedience, is this a common way to manage cats? It is hard to believe this is not well known since I suspect it would work with any cat.

We don’t tease the cat with the light like you do with a toy. I think it would be mean to play using a light that can not be trapped by the cat.
