I always thought they were ringers. The youngest one was about 25. The oldest Senior in my class was 29, we averaged about 24.

There are two aspects of nerdiness.
The first is the technological or intellectual competence which is assumed of nerds. That is to be admired.

The second is the social inappropriateness, or inability to relate well with other people. That will always stand in the way of being accepted. Anyone who is unable to show an appropriate interest in others, to discourse on a relevant level, and makes others uncomfortable, will be avoided, nerd or not.

In my high school the nerds were not only accepted but somewhat admired, and their behavior became acceptable.

with Wil was when Ashley Judd guest starred.

I remember Patrick Stewart…( guest speaker at a Star Trek convention in Plano) was only mildly amused at Wil’s hero worship of Stewart. At the time Stewart was driving a Honda Accord…black. Wil shows up with a black Accord. Stewart bought a new car.
I always thought that was mean on Stewart’s part.
