If I left the impression that I was implying that FockSnooze viewers knuckle-walked over to Amazon to peck out those reviews, I must apologize to our cousins the chimpanzees.

FockSnooze viewers are, of course, easily distinguished from chimpanzees by the fact that the former still have tails, while the latter have a sense of humor.

Many pardons.

Way I understand it, <i>homo sapiens sapiens</i> shares about 98%+ of its DNA with <i>pan troglogdytes</i>.

And I'm proud to share DNA with <i>pan troglogdytes</i>.

'Nuff said.

"Spirited Debate", Buzzfeed, Andrew Kaczynski?

You wouldn't be trying to distract me on this, would you? I have no idea who any of these proper nouns refer to. They are obviously part of some elaborate fantasy you're constructing to convince yourself your partisans' greed and eagerness didn't blow up in their faces in a scenario where they should have had total and complete control of the proceedings.

You'll have to excuse me now for a couple of hours. I have to go do my Neighborhood Watch thing now, but I can't wait to see how you;re going to resopond to this.

I think your attention span needs a little work.

He says the reporter was obviously being fed gotcha questions on her ear piece and was asking them without having a chance to think them over. He expressed sympathy for her, knowing she really was not prepared to talk to him, and her handlers were so eager to intimidate their guest and get him to say something unacceptable to their evangelical audience that they just kept on burying her deeper and deeper.

I guess the Foxies thought they had themselves a trifecta: a liberal, a perfesser, and a Muslim, too! Hot damn! We're gonna git that boy!

BTW, this is not the first time someone has analyzed Jesus' career from the point of view of a political activist fighting to free his people from Roman rule and Hellenistic cultural influences, both of them anathema to the 1st century Jews of Palestine (the Roman name for the province where Jerusalem was located). A lot of Christian scholars have written about this. You will recall I mentioned a book I read in college written by a Christian on this same theme, The Passover Plot by Hugh Schonfield (1965). This does not mean they don't believe he was a religious leader, but that he may have been much more besides. Of course, the gospels do not emphasize this aspect--for a reason.

When the Christians started trying to spread their faith in Rome itself, and when the Gentile and Jewish (Greek and Palestinian) factions of the early Christian church came into conflict, a great effort was made to rewrite the gospels so the Jewish priesthood were the bad guys and the Romans were innocent of his execution. (Hence the whole Pontius Pilate dialogue). The Gentile Christians did not want to alienate the Roman authorities by emphasizing their Jewish, revolutionary roots, especially since Jewish freedom fighters were fighting pitched battles with the Roman Legions. This is the kind of stuff these scholars study: the history of the church, not its religious doctrine.

I wish I had it for the plane trip tomorrow.

P.S. I think they must have handed her a paper of questions to ask, she never read the book, and she isn't listening to his answers.

<p>Aslan would be the intelligent person.</p>

"Spirited Debate" is an online-only show on Friday afternoons. I would suspect it normally has about a hundred "viewers." Until the massive viral blast by Buzzfeed, I had never heard of it, or Aslan's book for that matter.

Prior to this interview, a different Fox News correspondent had written a critical article on Aslan based on the same premise, so the flags were already up and waving, and if Aslan hadn't spotted them himself, sure as hell somebody pointed them out to him.

It would be quite instructive to know who actually requested the interview, and who fed Buzzfeed (the first place the story hit big) the video. Odds are very slim that "Spirited Debate" is a show that Andrew Kaczynski tracks on his own. Buzzfeed clocked about 4.7 million views.

Aslan's sales have skyrocketed, and the idiots on the Left have more red meat to gnaw, and another "squirrel" to point at while more important things are going on.

And that's pretty much the limit of my attention span on this.
