It could be that the writers have no idea what they're writing about. That and the hero-worship that seems so often directed toward the role of mad scientist.

Maybe it refers to Flesh Gordon.

Now, I can't be the only one to have seen that hilarious monstrosity.

becaus they reaffirm the belief that there is some kind of life after death. That wish is so powerful that it is hard to accept that anyopne who really believes it is doing so rationally.

As for the "scary part", nothing in hell or horror can be scarier than the kind of people who kidnap young women and keep them chained up for sex for ten years. You don't need the supernatural to provide real horror. Plain ordinary people are much better at it than any spook could possibly be.

I guess it's a generic term, now.

Means "anything designed specifically to appeal strongly to an interest group." Like a show all about fixing race cars might be "mechanic porn."

The promos of the film were blockbuster convincing until the interviews with the people that claimed to have experienced it. They all seemed like a bunch of cucks and refugees from New Zealand health care.

I gathered that they all walked away from the experience. I don't deny that I would be startled by apparitions and if they persisted I would soon be more angry than frightened. Of course I would want to move if they could not be exorcised. A bug and rat infestation would affect me the same way.

Do I believe it happened as they said? Sorry, no, it is impossible for me to believe in something that can't be reproduced or made apparent. In my world, bumps in the night are just bumps, or real villains breaking into your home.

Paranormal experiences range from harmless daydreaming to infectious hysterical flights of imagination, exaggerated with each retelling. They are essentially faith based incidents that fill the cracks of shaky religious beliefs. They are need fulfilling.

None of this means the film is not entertaining. I will probably watch it by your recommendation.

Hey, it's just my opinion and an open invitation for ghosts and goblins to "come at me bro".

The stuff that made him famous, such as "Sirens of Titan" and the community of misfits of his later novels was just hippy-dippy liberal BS. It was too much even for me.
