I think we’re going to have live with it and we might as well learn to deal with the problems that will arise. You’ll probably hear a lot of “I told you so’s”.

And I happen to agree with you on military spending. Maybe not cut by half but seriously reduced. Would have to happen slowly. Remember Buck saying we can’t layoff government workers because it will hurt the economy? Same thing with down sizing the armed forces. Unlike gov workers, cuts to the military will directly affect GDP. If it ever happens, contractors would have to be weaned.

Gee whiz. One of the nicest things said about me in the last year. Anywhere. I’m humbled.

Now, please, I’d suggest you read a book, any book, by anyone, which deals with the health care issue. The one I read most recently is “Confidence Men” – Wall Street, Washington and the education of a President” by Ron Suskind. HarperCollinsPublishers.

Suskind seems to me to be about as unbiased as he could be, and at the end of the book I didn’t know whether he approved of Obama or not. And it was fascinating to read of the process. And the double-dealing, double-crossing and avoiding things which would have cut costs were not repeat not led, most of the time, by Democrats.

When you talk about “Obamacare” rather than “Universal Health Care” I’m going to read a perjorative bias into it. And I think reasonably.

And a true fiscal conservative would approve of cutting the military budget in half. We are not threatened by anyone at any meaningful level. Seriously. There are no merchant ships off our coast with crop dusters.

Conservatives blocked EVERY cost-cutting measure proposed, everything that would make it run smoothly, and NOW YOU BLAME OBAMA!!!

Is it any wonder why some people could wonder about Conservatives?

And there are stories about people losing jobs, hours, benefits every time the minimum wage goes up, too.

Why don’t Conservatives fire people every time they start a war? Those cost money, too.

It’s just plain disgusting.
