In the van I have a laptop with a wireless ergonomic keyboard. When I’ve been driving occasionally something has landed on a keyboard and stuck a key. I think the OS has turned some of those into macros, so that it’s painfully difficult to type on it. For instance, if I type “th” the cursor jumps up one line and back 8 spaces. I have to manually move it into place, and usually erase the next few letters I’ve typed. There are about 5 different key combinations which cause the cursor to jump and start entering letters somewhere else.
Does anyone know how to find those macros and get rid of them? I don’t have the slightest idea. It’s Windows 8.
By the way, it cost me $90 and 45 minutes of time with a Microsoft support person to install something that will enable me to use DVDs on the DVD player with Windows 8. I wish I could figure out Ubuntu, but all my efforts came to naught.
Thanks.

What TB said. When you are typing these characters, what application are you typing into?

The macros are more likely to be associated with the software you're using, not the OS. Check "preferences."
