In fact, of all legislation designed to cover the shortcomings and gaps in the private economy, from minimum wage to child labor to the 8 hour workday and 40 hour work week.

There is a hard sell to the faithful how the new legislation will lead to rationing, gulags, death panels, and the end of Western Civilization; until folks start seeing the benefits and values of the programs, then they'll say it was their idea all along and how the Dems are trying to "take it away from you". Remember how during the election they were trying to rile up the seniors by telling them Obama was "coming for their Medicare and Social Security"? Once the benefits become apparent, there is no going back, and they know that. That explains the lies and desperation and the sabotage. They have to move now or Obama will be remembered as the man who defeated the Bush Depression and gave us Obamacare. They know exactly what they are doing.

These people are only right about one thing: its going to cost them money. They would much rather cut the programs, let the folks who rely on them fend for themselves as best they can, and give themselves a tax cut with the savings.

After all, people fought and died so that he could have his own political beliefs and I'd like to see him stand by them. Even if he died to follow them.

I'd hate to think he'd take advantage of a health system he fought just as I hate to believe people would take advantage of Union benefits when they hate Unions.

There must be some principle they'll stand for, something which is more sacred than themselves. Or are they admitting they are simply selfish, and will go with whatever ideology offers them the most?

No respect for the folks, really. What's to respect?
