that Clinton was cited with wasting bombs, using them up, and if we really, really needed that ordinance, we'd be frelled.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear the same argument again in the next few weeks.

Of course we didn't hear the same over the last decade's campaigns.

The Military Indu$try wins either way.

Drones will play a bigger role in this engagement. The Drone War.

Probably, a cyber battle is already underway, and not just the hacks on the New York Times.

And they will declare it a disaster no matter how it turns out.

Their idea of Middle Eastern Policy is passing a bill banning Sharia Law, like they just did in N. Carolina.

If he just blasts away from afar, he can't control the outcome very well unless the CIA is on the ground buying a lot of people.

And if he goes in all the way, we'll wind up "owning" Syria. Just more headaches without a good outcome. US troops will simply be chewed up as in Iraq.

What I wonder is if this is somehow a US - Russia proxy matter, with minor Chinese interest. There is clearly no value for the US in "owning" Syria unless it is to simply show Russia that we will not tolerate a power vacuum in that area into which the Bear can move.

There is just so much we know, and just so much we don't know.

All the more reason to say hell no, imo.

I sort of expected that we would find WMD in Iraq, but I was not surprised there were none and I always believed we were using that premise to gain popular support for getting rid of a pain in the ass thug and war criminal.

Now we find ourselves faced with an almost identical scenario with Syria. The only difference is, Syria seems to be well known (not suspected) to have perhaps the larges store of chem weapons in the world.

Obama drew the line in the sand and with the evidence we have he should have no problem forming the Mother of all coalitions.

If our actions against Assad result in the rebels winning, we probably wind up with another radical Muslim state.

JHC, remove Israel from the equation and we are pumping military aid into Syria and he probably would be jumping through hoops for us and not using chems.
