"Thunderbirds" (2004), with Ben Kingsley as the villan.

No marionettes this time -- although I have to admit, I do have "Thunderbirds Are GO" (1966), done so excellently, with miniature models and puppets.

With all that has gone on this month. Was planning on reviewing it when I returned to broadband land.

Silent Running was one of my favorite flicks in my younger years. I could use some little robot assistants right about now.

Gattaca I've seen several times.

Serenity was a great wrap-up to Firefly.

Haven't seen the last two.

Extremely painful, and they are everywhere.

It's probably an apocryphal tale, but my grandmother used to say the Spaniards introduced them in Florida so the Indians would have to wear shoes.

<p>"Sweetgum."</p>

That's the name of the tree (several varieties), and it gets planted everywhere because it has spectacular fall foliage. Then it drops those damn spikeballs everywhere.

It looks like a giant burr, something that would only work on an animal that was hairy and very large. Maybe sweetgums and giant prehistoric mammals used to be a symbiotic team.

Fountain, which was a huge disappointment to me. The other 5 are all quite good.

As for ER's additions, I Googled them and I don't think I have seen either. Existenz streams on Netflix so I will probably watch it this week.

The Thirteenth Floor sounds either depressing or ambiguous, I don't care for either. I might not get around to that one
