…and my story includes you.

There are many things that could be re-posted that I would not recall. Before ER recalled the post I din’t remember myself, and assumed I had only posted it on FB. I certainly don’t expect anyone to recall anything I said here 4 months ago. As far as a FB post forget about it. The way those pages roll, I miss at least half the content.

I thought it was interesting that Tom and I both coincidentally noted the cliche-ness that became associated with the beautiful poem.

I am a melancholy person. I feel on very deep levels and Syria, while I have not said anything here, had me deeply upset…and the “Dust In The Wind* mentality began to permeate my senses. I was sinking. Apparently by posting about the Kansas video…I was asking for help.

As for them hippies…you know they were right, you know?

It goes without saying that I feel the same way about you and the rest of our group. I haven’t given up on my “bucket list”. I hope to someday show up at TB’s door and spend a few days as his guest.

Interesting, I posted Desiderata on Facebook back in May, with an almost identical “cliche” comment. I got comments from several friends that they had never read it.

I thought I had posted it here but maybe not. I was quite taken with it back in the day but it did become associated with the “hippy” culture that was emerging in the 60s and 70s. That association seemed to trivialize it a bit, and that’s a shame.

You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste,
And remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep.
Rotate your tires.
Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself,
And heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys.
Know what to kiss, and when.
Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three do.
Wherever possible, put people on hold.
Be comforted that in the face of all aridity and disillusionment,

There is always a big future in computer maintenance.

Exercise caution in your daily affairs,

Although I must confess, other than a very few chat rooms like tis one, I don’t do any social media.
