So many joggers and people walking small dogs...that was my concern last year with the cougar.

When I saw this thread I looked up the range of wolverines and it said they have never been seen South of Colorado. So, I just assumed it was something else.

I saw your comment on FB that they may have been dumped and that is definitely a possibility. If they had been migrating, I am sure they would have turned their ass around at the first 90+ degree day.

Did the animal people take it seriously?

They are extremely dangerous animals when they feel threatened. Powerful and fearless, pound for pound, they are the baddest ass in the forest. They've been known to take on grizzlies. And win!

But you might have a hard time getting Animal Control to believe you. As TB pointed out, they are not native to your area, and it may very well be an escaped pet or zoo animal.

Still, when somone else reports it, it will corroborate your report and motivate them to get with the program.

That was the second thing I thought of.

But when I checked the range, it didn't pan out. They barely have wolverines at all in the lower 48. Possibly an escapee?

Badgers have short tails and stripes, otherwise that would have been my first guess. I'm assuming if it looked like a cat you would have said so.

Might actually have been a dog. I've seen some pretty weird crossbreeds.
